An interesting piece from the NYT on social networks and narcissism

I'm not posting it to say there is anything bad about social networks. But some people can become addicted to them. People with low self esteem can use them, sorta like a mirror, to reflect back an image of external validation to themselves. It is a form of self medication they use to patch over a hole inside.
People with Narcissistic Personality Disorder [males] / Histrionic Personality Disorder [females], in particular, are vulnerable to this type of behavior.
